Map Prototype

After creating the textures and applying them to the blocks, I have created a prototype/example of one of my maps. Since creating the moss texture took the longest, I figured I would make a map with these textures to show them off. Here are some images from that map. Granted, this is a lot bumpier and smaller than what my actual map will be like but still, this is just one possibility out of the endless amount that are out there.

Roll-A-Ball: Reference Gathering and Game Design Post

For my Roll-A-Ball game levels, I will be doing a rolling game with a top down view. The objective of this game will be to get to the other side of the map without falling off the map. To make this interesting, the first map will be the easiest, the second will be a medium difficulty and the last will be the most challenging. The textures that I will need to make these maps are shown below. I will make one of these maps of all glass, another of an icy look/texture, and the last maybe a dungeon look.

Final 2DRPG

Monster Takeover
Your a boy who grew up in a common village in an alternate universe. However, one day, a group of monsters and their leader, Grud, attacked your village and you want revenge. This causes you to start a long journey through many harsh areas full of different violent monsters. As you get closer and closer to Grud, the monsters get stronger and stronger. In order to continue your journey to kill the leader, you go through several towns and are able to buy new, stronger, better weapons. You will need the build up your arsenal of weapons in order to take down the all powerful Grud. Once defeating Grud you will go through the door and win the game.
Throughout the process of building this game, I set many goals for myself and wanted to make this game big and difficult. For this reason, I spaced out where you can buy weapons, how much they are and how much damage they cause. In the first town you only get a dagger and a bow, then you get an ax in the second town. Finally you get a powerful sword and wand in the last town. I also made it so that every character says something different. The one thing I probably should have done a little more of is redoing the looks and involving the story a bit more. To beat this game the player is going to have to buy new weapons and get a lot of money in order to purchase all of these weapons. Honestly, I am very proud of this game and all the time and areas I put in really make it unique and different from the other games that were created. I have provided pictures below to illustrate the important parts of the game and what should be done to beat the game.
