2D RPG Game Creation week 1

This week, I have done a lot to make this game my own and different from the original version. I have changed the enemies from bats and stone monsters into turtles on a clouds and zombies. I also expanded the areas. Now while going to the right, there are 4 new monster areas so far and 2 new towns. I plan on expanding just a bit further and creating 1 more monster area and a boss level. I have also made one monster area very challenging to give the game a high difficulty level. It is beatable however, the player just has to play the game smartly. I have made each town different and unique one is very small the other is about the same size as town one. I plan on fixing the third town, the big one, just a tad and making it a little different from town one. I hope this pleases everyone. feel free to leave any comments you have about my game, I would appreciate feedback.

New Monster Area

This week, I created a new monster area. I wanted to make it look different from the other area that already existed. The area that I made has a slightly different shape to it. I also attempted to make it look as if it were coming directly from the town with the stone path by the entrance. The amount of enemies is also increased highly and navigating through this area is extremely difficult. However, this makes the area challenging and fun. I did add two chests to the area with their own stuff inside. One is guarded by many many stone monsters, the other is right as you walk in. Due to the difficulty of the stone monsters guarding the chest, I made the loot well worth it. Finally, I also added an abandoned house to the area and attempted to make the inside look abandoned as well. The most difficult part about all of this though were the corners that turned a separate way. Not only did I have to line the walls up perfectly but I also had to angel another wall to fill the gap between the two ends of the wall. I think this came out really well for what I have been taught and hope that you enjoy this as much as I do. Feel free to leave comments and suggestions.

3 Paragraph Game Doc.

This game is going to have a different story. A group of monsters has raided the main character's town by the command of Grud, the leader of the monster army. Since the soldiers are busy protecting the small town, they elected their best warrior, Zeus, to take care of the situation and defeat Grud. However, the path to the monster's main site is long and dangerous. Zeus will face many challenges and many obstacles while on this path. To be successful, he will need to build up his arsenal of weapons. To do so, he will need to go the neighboring towns on his way to Grud and obtain stronger weapons than what his town can offer him.
Taking place in an alternate world where magic, swords, bows, axes, and other interesting weapons are used, this game will feature about 5 to 6  different weapons. The first of these being an original sword that the player will start with. It isn't very powerful, or very long, but it is a sword. After getting enough money, the player will be able to purchase a bow. Slightly stronger than the beginning sword, this bow will shoot a decent speed but the damage won't be the best. Then, after making through to the first neighboring village, the player will be eligible to purchase both armor, and an ax. The armor will be under the character's shirt and non-visible to the player. However, it will give the player two extra hearts, but once those hearts are up, the player must go buy more armor to gain back those two hearts. The ax will be stronger than both the bow and the sword, however, since it is heavier its going to take a longer amount of time between each swing the player can take. Then, after the 'first obstacle' is completed, the player will be allowed to purchase a strong sword as well as a powerful wand. The wand will take the place of a strong bow and will be able to shoot out powerful magic at a very decent rate. All of these weapons can be seen below.
As far as the enemies go, the character will face three to four different types of enemies. The most basic out of all of these characters would be the snake. This snake won't be very quick or deadly. As in most games, it will be the starting enemy that ends up being easy to kill and eventually becomes annoying. After making it to the first neighboring village, a new enemy will be introduced. This enemy will be a flying type, such as the image of the turtle on a cloud seen below. Of course some changes will be made but it is the basic idea of what this enemy will look like. This enemy will be challenging to kill and will be much quicker than the snake as well as slightly more health. The next enemy will appear after the 'first obstacle' and 2nd village. This third enemy will be the hardest to defeat, besides the main boss, but he will be the slowest. He will be a ground type of enemy who can deal a great amount of damage. This enemy is the octopus/tentacle enemy seen below. Finally, the main boss will be introduced to the character after the 2nd village. This enemy will either be a different version of the octopus/tentacle enemy or different all together. He will be stronger, and have more health than any other character that the player will have to face. It will take a lot to defeat him. The other form for this final enemy can be seen in the last sprite sheet below.

2D RPG New House, Week Three.

This week, I created a new house in the village. This house was duplicated from another house that was previously created in the scene. When walking into the house, the setup/interior is duplicated from the barandbed scene. However, instead of so many beds, I only have two beds withing this scene. Also I changed everything the NPC says. I included all of them that spoke above and even made 2 more. The two other characters I created were two guards. These guards guard a chest and, in my opinion, give this room more importance. I also added in some more smaller aspects in this scene. Some of these aspects are logs, rocks, gems, a heart, a treasure chest, and the shield decoration on the back wall. I believe by adding all of these things, I have created a scene that is very unique and different from the other scenes in this game. I would like to here from other people about any my scene and additions to the game. For more additions please go to my week 2 post. Feel free to comment about anything I have done to this game and if you have any suggestions, please feel free to post them as well.

Week 2 Progress-2D RPG

This week, I redid the character, the weapons, the house, an aspect of the building, and one of the enemies. In the picture above you can see that for the buildings, I changed the windows from black to blue. I felt like it made it a little more realistic. You can also see how I changed the bow to look like a similar version of Pit's bow, an old games character. I thought it would be cool to add something different to the game. Another thing you can see from this picture is how I changed the character. I gave him a beard and changed the color of his outfit to try and make him stand out more. His top half is green, his pants are brown and his shoes are black.
In the picture above you can see how I changed the enemies from blobs to snakes. I never liked the blobs, I thought they were random and a terrible enemy. However, snakes are a lot more dangerous and realistic which made me design the snake. Below are more images showing off the other aspects of the game I changed such as the weapons, the projectiles, and the way I changed the character.
